Hi – Kim here. This month our “Hot Off the Press” is an article about the recent meteor that exploded over Russia called “NASA Tracks Russian Plum.” The piece tells about the “meteor dust” that circulated through the stratosphere for at least three months. The article states “By Feb. 19, four days after the explosion, the faster, higher portion of the plume had snaked its way entirely around the Northern Hemisphere and back to Chelyabinsk.” You can read this interesting story at: http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2013/15aug_russianmeteorplume/

I flew over the crater in June of 1960 going to Ft. Campbell, Ky. It took me 53 years, but I finally made it back. It was worth the trip and completed an item on my "bucket list". What a wonderful experience.
